If you could choose any show to merge worlds with ABC’s popular first responder procedural 9-1-1 for an episode, what would it be?

Would you opt for another hit series on the same network, like Jennifer Love Hewitt did when she pitched what officially became Season 7’s 9-1-1 crossover with The Bachelor? Or would you keep it in the 9-1-1 family and bring the 118 back together with 9-1-1: Lone Star (still airing on Fox) like the show did in a Season 4 crossover? The possibilities are endless!

When Decider spoke to 9-1-1’s crossover mastermind earlier this year, Hewitt admitted, “I have another crossover idea I pitched!” So there’s a chance we’ll see the 118 cross paths with another fan-favorite cast in Season 8.

In honor of Hewitt’s love of a good crossover and 9-1-1’s successful history with ambitious episodes, we asked stars Peter Krause and Ryan Guzman to share their dream crossover episodes as well. Their answers — while admittedly not the easiest ideas to execute — were utterly delightful and offered a rare glimpse into their personal TV tastes.

When asked about his dream crossover episode in March — back when Bobby and Athena were still struggling to survive their honeymoon trip — Krause chuckled and said, “I was going to say Lost, but that’s now off the air.” After getting the green light to follow his heart, the actor doubled down on his initial pick, excitedly adding, “We’ll go on another vacation and slip into another dimension into that world.”

Ahead of Season 7’s finale, Decider shared Krause’s response with Guzman and asked him to share the crossover episode of his dreams. Taking Krause’s lead, the 9-1-1 star passionately argued for one of his favorite off-air shows: Scrubs.

“I guess if it doesn’t have to make sense, then I always was a big fan of Scrubs,” Guzman said. “If we could bring back Scrubs — oh my god, that would be incredible.”

In recent years we’ve learned that you can never say never when it comes to reboots. That said, as it currently stands, Lost is probably less likely to “go back” to TV than Scrubs — though Krause will be happy to know his beloved sci-fi series is hitting Netflix soon! Guzman’s wish for more Scrubs may also be a real possibility, as talks of a reboot in the form of a movie have been ongoing for years.

“If we could bring back those guys. The whole cast was amazing,” Guzman continued. “So if we could bring back that cast, just for like an episode, that’d be amazing.”

Picture it:An emergency that somehow brings the 118, Athena, and Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Amir (because I’m not done with him yet!) together with J.D. (Zach Braff), Turk (Donald Faison), Elliot (Sarah Chalk), Carla (Judy Reyes), and company? Let’s make it happen, Bill Lawrence! (What else does Bill have going on right now?! Surely he can fit this in.)

As far the future 9-1-1 crossover that Hewitt pitched, there’s a possibility it’s with another ABC series, so let’s check the Fall 2024 lineup for potential collabs, shall we? In the unscripted department there’s The Golden Bachelorette, Dancing With The Stars, and Shark Tank. Oliver Stark’s dream crossover, Abbott Elementary, is also returning for Season 4. And among ABC’s upcoming fall lineup of scripted series like High Potential and Grey’s Anatomy is Ryan Murphy’s new series Doctor Odyssey, starring Joshua Jackson. A Murphy-verse crossover would be iconic…but is the 118 ready to get back on a luxury cruise ship yet? Only time will tell!

Many fans were also hopeful that 9-1-1 would deliver another Lone Star crossover in the future, and though there are currently no known plans for a reunion, Christopher (Gavin McHugh) is going to Texas, so who’s to say a member or two of the 118 couldn’t visit The Lone Star State down the line.

While we wait for more info on 9-1-1 Season 8 and potential crossover episodes, you can read everything Decider knows about the future of the ABC drama here.

9-1-1 is now streaming on Hulu.
